Rushi Patel, P.T., D.P.T, SCCE is a sports physical therapist at Scottish Rite for Children Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and went on to receive his doctorate in physical therapy at The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in Austin.
Subsequently, Rushi completed a sports physical therapy residency with Baylor Scott & White. He’s a certified clinical instructor and enjoys working with current physical therapy students interested in learning more about the specialty of pediatric sports medicine. His interests include field sports and basketball emphasis, which aligned with his passion and sports played when he was in high school at Plano Senior High School. As he’s gained experience in the field, Rushi feels strongly of not following a specific “system” or “protocol” when working with patients. Rather, he believes in an individualized approach that creates a treatment plan that’s specific to a patient’s goals, abilities, medical history, and current presentation. This includes considering proper sleep and nutrition that are essential for a good outcome during rehab and for performance.
